Today's bowtie represents... Leukemia Lymphoma Society

Published Nov. 15, 2016 2:51 p.m. ET

WHAT IT MEANS:

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society exists to find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients. We are saving lives not someday, but today.

Dhani Jones, former linebacker for the Cincinnati Bengals and founder of Bow Tie Cause, was our featured speaker at our Furniture Fair Celebrity Golf Dinner in 2010. He personally tied 100 bow ties for guests that purchased a bow tie in support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Dhani's best friend and lymphoma survivor, Kunta Littlejohn, designed our bow tie. Kunta was the inspiration for Bow Tie Cause when he told Dhani, "If you want to be somebody, you've got to rock a bow tie!"
