Texas to go with 4-man ALDS rotation

Published Oct. 1, 2010 1:00 a.m. ET

Right-hander Tommy Hunter will be added to the Rangers playoff rotation.

Manager Ron Washington announced the decision Friday before the Rangers played the Los Angeles Angels.

Earlier in the week, Washington said he'd go with a three-man rotation of Cliff Lee, C.J. Wilson and right-hander Colby Lewis in the division series against Tampa Bay or the New York Yankees.

However, Lee would have to pitch on three days rest if he were to start Game 4, if necessary.

So, the Rangers changed plans and added Hunter, who carried a 13-4 record (7-0 at home) into his start Friday night.
