Tanaka struggles as Yankees routed by Nationals 13-0

VIERA, Fla. (AP) New York Yankees right-hander Masahiro Tanaka allowed seven runs in his fourth spring training start, and the Washington Nationals rolled to a 13-0 win Wednesday night.

Tanaka, who had allowed only seven hits and two earned runs in his first three spring training starts, allowed a solo home run to Washington's Stephen Drew and a two-run homer to Wilson Ramos in a six-run third inning.

Anthony Rendon went 3 for 3 with a pair of doubles and an RBI for Washington.

Tanaka had only thrown a total of seven innings in his previous three starts. He lasted four innings Wednesday, giving up nine hits while strikng out three.

Nationals starter Stephen Strasburg, meanwhile, had his best outing of the spring. The right-hander struck out nine while allowing six hits over five scoreless innings.
