Franchise best: Tim Lincecum, left, dominated Atlanta in the opener, throwing a two-hitter and setting the Giants' franchise postseason record with 14 strikeouts. With two outs in the fourth inning, Cody Ross singled past third baseman Omar Infante to bring home Buster Posey, above, with the game's lone run.

At AT&T Park, Braves 5,
Giants 4 11, Oct. 8
From crash to splash: After Posey's scary collision with Pablo Sandoval as they tracked Jason Heyward's popup in the first inning, the Giants owned a 4-0 lead through five. It was 4-1 in the eighth before Atlanta tied the game on Alex Gonzalez's two-run double off Brian Wilson. Rick Ankiel, below, launched a Ramon Ramirez pitch into McCovey Cove in the 11th, providing the run that evened the series.
At Atlanta, Giants 3, Braves 2, Sunday
Glove story: Heyward, right, couldn't quite corral Mike Fontenot's second-inning drive that became a triple. The defense of Brooks Conrad became the story of this one. The second baseman's third error of the game - and fourth of the series - capped the Giants' two-out, two-run rally in the ninth. Jonathan Sanchez struck out 11 and limited the Braves to two hits in 7 1/3 innings.
At Atlanta, Giants 3,
Braves 2, Monday
Farewell party: Rookie Madison Bumgarner, above, held Atlanta to two runs in six innings and picked up the victory. Ross' homer and RBI single were the key hits to enable Freddy Sanchez facing, Edgar Renteria and Juan Uribe 5 to celebrate a series-clinching victory. Atlanta's loss marked the end of a career for manager Bobby Cox.
