Seattle recalls RHP Farquhar; options RHP Guaipe

BOSTON (AP) The Seattle Mariners have recalled right-hander Danny Farquhar from Triple-A Tacoma.

The 28-year-old Farquhar is with the Mariners for the third time this season. Heading into Saturday's game at Boston, he is 0-3 with a 6.23 ERA in 25 appearances.

Farquhar takes the roster spot of right-hander Mayckol Guaipe, who was optioned to Tacoma after Friday's 15-1 loss to the Red Sox.

The 25-year-old Guaipe was 0-3 with a 7.50 ERA in eight games.
