Infielder Jack Hannahan has been outrighted to Triple-A Tacoma by the Seattle Mariners after being designated for assignment last week.

Seattle made the move on Tuesday after Hannahan cleared waivers and declined the option to declare for free agency.

Hannahan was designated for assignment by the Mariners on May 28 when catcher Eliezer Alfonzo was selected.

Hannahan opened the season on the Mariners' major league disabled list with a strained groin. He was optioned to Tacoma following his rehab and was hitting .190 with two homers at 14 RBIs in 27 games with Tacoma.
