Santiago named Angels' nominee for 2015 Roberto Clemente Award
Los Angeles Angels left-hander Hector Santiago is a hard-worker on and off the field, and on Monday he was rewarded with a nomination for the 2015 Roberto Clemente Award.

The award recognizes a player who best represents the game through positive contributions on and off the field, including sportsmanship and community involvement. Each club nominates one player in an effort to pay tribute to Clemente's achievements and character by recognizing current players who truly understand the value of helping others.

This season's Roberto Clemente Day falls on Wednesday, September 16. Nominated players on teams playing at home on Wednesday will be recognized with a ceremony, while those players on the road Wednesday will be recognized at a home game later in the month.
As for Santiago, his on-field work this season has netted him an 8-9 record and 3.21 ERA in 29 games, 28 of them as a starter.
