NEW YORK (AP) Infielder Brendan Ryan has exercised his $1 million player option with the New York Yankees.
New York also said Tuesday it has declined its club option on pitcher Andrew Bailey, which was worth $1 million.
Ryan, 33, hit .229 with eight RBIs in 96 at-bats this year. After missing the first two months of the season with a strained right calf, he made his season debut June 10, then went back on the disabled list June 22 with a strained back. He returned after the All-Star break.
Bailey, 31, allowed eight runs - five earned - over 8 2-3 innings in 10 games with the Yankees during September, his first major league appearances since July 2013. If New York offers a contract by Dec. 2, he would be eligible for salary arbitration.
