Royals assign RHP Jon Rauch to minor league camp

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- The Kansas City Royals have assigned right-hander Jon Rauch to minor league camp.

The Royals made the move Monday.

The 35-year-old Rauch has pitched in the majors for nine seasons. He is 43-40 with a 3.90 ERA and 62 saves in 556 games.

Rauch pitched 15 games for Miami last season.

The Royals also optioned outfielder Jimmy Paredes to Triple-A Omaha.
