Reyes (oblique) to miss weekend series vs. Braves, possibly more

Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Jose Reyes will miss at least the next three games vs. Atlanta after leaving Thursday's game with a sore left oblique in the first inning.

Reyes, who initially sustained the injury last Friday vs. Baltimore, said he has felt no improvement.

"I was playing through it, but I feel like yesterday, and today, it kind of got worse," Reyes told reporters. "I kind of backed off a little bit, because that's dangerous."

Ryan Goins, who was called up prior to Thursday's game from Triple-A Buffalo, is expected to take Reyes' spot in the interim, but he's more known for his glove than his bat, considering he has a career .215 average in the majors.

It's unclear if Reyes will require a trip to the disabled list. He will be re-evaluated following the weekend series with the Braves. Toronto has an off day Monday before starting another three-game series vs. the Orioles.
