The Reds will honor Tony Perez with a bronze statue at Great American Ball Park on August 22, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

“A native of Cuba, Perez was a key member of the two-time world champion Big Red Machine. In 2000, the first baseman became a member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and remains one of franchise's most beloved players.”

Local artist Tom Tsuchiya will create the statue and Perez's statue will capture one of his most iconic moments, when he homered in Game 7 of the 1975 World Series.
