Red Sox push back Saturday start for Bruins parade

Published Jun. 16, 2011 11:02 p.m. ET

The Red Sox have pushed back the start time of their Saturday home game with the Milwaukee Brewers to avoid a conflict with the Boston Bruins' Stanley Cup victory parade.

The game at Fenway Park will be played at 7:10 p.m. instead of 1:10 p.m. The Red Sox also said Thursday they'll include a pregame tribute to the Bruins' championship team.

The team said city officials had requested the change to help deal with the large crowds expected for the 11 a.m. downtown parade and the baseball game.

The Red Sox said the change also will allow fans to watch both events on television.
