Loney was hurt sliding while stealing third base in the eighth inning of Sunday's game against Oakland.

"We know he's going to be down for some time," Tampa Bay manager Kevin Cash.

Cash said Logan Forsythe will fill in for Loney

The Rays recalled infielder Tim Beckham and infielder-outfielder Jake Elmore from Triple-A Durham before Monday night's game with Seattle.

Reliever Preston Guilmet was optioned to Durham after Sunday's game.

Right fielder Steven Souza Jr. (sprained left wrist) and shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera (groin strain), both injured Sunday, were out of Monday's starting lineup.
