Rays option infielder Tim Beckham to minors

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) The Tampa Bay Rays have optioned rookie infielder Tim Beckham to Triple-A Durham after the team's 5-2 win over the Oakland Athletics on Friday night.
Left-hander Enny Romero was called up to take Beckham's place on the roster.
Beckham, the first overall pick in the 2008 draft, hit one of the Rays' three home runs on Friday night. He has hit .224 with five home runs and 16 RBIs in 33 games with the Rays this season.
Romero, one of three lefties in the Rays' eight-man bullpen, was 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA in three starts at Durham. He pitched in one game for the Rays in 2013.
