Rangers' Beltre leaves game with injury

Published Jul. 22, 2011 1:00 a.m. ET

All-Star third baseman Adrian Beltre left the Texas Rangers' game Friday night after straining his left hamstring running the bases.

Beltre got hurt while running from first to third on Michael Young's single in the fifth inning against Toronto. Just before getting to third, Beltre cringed and pulled up slightly in an effort to take pressure off his leg. He reached back and grabbed the back of his leg above his knee after getting to the base.

The Rangers said Beltre will have an MRI on Saturday.

Manager Ron Washington immediately came out of the dugout with a trainer when Beltre got to third base.
