ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) The Rangers have activated outfielder Delino DeShields from the 15-day disabled list and optioned infielder Hanser Alberto to Triple-A Round Rock.

DeShields, who strained his left hamstring June 14 against Minnesota, was in the leadoff spot as the center fielder for Sunday night's game against the Los Angeles Angels. He had a six-game rehab assignment with Round Rock, hitting .308 with three doubles and two RBIs.

The 22-year-old rookie, a Rule 5 pickup from Houston, hit .269 with four triples and 13 stolen bases for Texas before the injury.

Alberto batted .247 in 25 games with the Rangers since being recalled from Round Rock on May 28. He had started just one of the previous 12 games.
