Puig's status unclear after Dodgers outfielder reinjures hamstring

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig exited Friday's game vs. the San Diego Padres after re-aggravating the left hamstring injury that caused him to miss four games last week.

Puig felt the discomfort running out a ground ball in the sixth inning, then walked gingerly back to the Los Angeles dugout. He was removed from the game in favor of Andre Ethier. Dodgers manager Don Mattingly told reporters it's unclear whether Puig's condition will warrant a stint on the 15-day disabled list, but the Dodgers' outfield depth with Ethier could give the team a good opportunity to rest Puig and not worry about much drop-off, if any, considering L.A. won those four games that Puig missed.

Earlier in the game during the first inning, Puig was hit by an Andrew Cashner pitch just above his left knee and went to the ground in pain before staying in the contest. He's hitting .279 with two home runs and four RBI in the early going.
