The Pittsburgh Pirates recalled outfielder Alex Presley and right-hander Kyle McPherson on Friday from Triple-A Indianapolis.

To make room on the roster, infielder Chase d'Arnaud was optioned to Class A Bradenton and first baseman Jeff Clement was out-righted to Bradenton.

Since the moves were made before Sept. 1, both Presley and McPherson would be eligible to play in the post-season if the Pirates qualify.

Presley spent much of the season with the Pirates but was optioned to Indianapolis in early August. He was batting leadoff against the Milwaukee Brewers Friday night, and was hitting .234 with eight home runs in 77 games for Pittsburgh.

McPherson made his major-league debut earlier this month. He pitched two scoreless innings of relief against San Diego in his only major-league game.
