Postponed date rescheduled as July 2 doubleheader

Published May. 31, 2011 8:24 p.m. ET

The Washington Nationals have rescheduled their postponed game with the Pittsburgh Pirates as a part of a doubleheader on July 2.

The game was originally scheduled for May 17 but was rained out. The first game of the doubleheader will start at 3:35 p.m., with the second game following at 7:05 p.m. or later, depending on the conclusion of the opener. The traditional doubleheader will require a single ticket for admission to both games.

Washington has already played a pair of doubleheaders this season because of rainouts. The Nationals swept Milwaukee at home on April 17, and split at St. Louis on April 20.
