CLEVELAND (AP) Right-hander Craig Stammen has agreed to a minor league contract with the Cleveland Indians and will report to big league spring training.

The 31-year-old was 26-24 with a 3.91 ERA in 38 starts and 191 relief appearances for the Washington Nationals during the past seven seasons. He pitched four scoreless innings in five games last year before season-ending surgery April 19 to repair torn flexor tendons.

Stammen became a free agent in December when the Nationals didn't offer him a 2016 contract. Cleveland announced his agreement Monday.
