Pagan out of Mets' lineup vs Braves

Published Sep. 17, 2010 8:49 p.m. ET

Angel Pagan has been scratched from the New York Mets' lineup because of a family issue.

The team did not explain what the problem was, but said Pagan arrived at the ballpark late and would not start in the Mets game against the Atlanta Braves on Friday night. He is available to pinch-hit.

Chris Carter has been inserted into the lineup in Pagan's spot as the right fielder and No. 2 hitter.
