Updated Mar. 4, 2020 11:50 p.m. ET

SAN DIEGO (AP) The San Diego Padres have placed Jon Jay on the 15-day disabled list with a broken right forearm.

The move was made Tuesday retroactive to June 20. Jay is hitting .296 with two homers and 23 RBIs.

To take his place on the roster, infielder-outfielder Alex Dickerson has been recalled from Triple-A El Paso. It's the second stint with the Padres this season for Dickerson, who was with the big club from May 2-14. He's currently leading the PCL with a .382 average and 1.047 OPS.

The Padres also claimed right-hander Paul Clemens off waivers from the Miami Marlins and transferred right-hander Jon Edwards from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list.
