Padres manager ejected for arguing replay review

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) San Diego Padres manager Bud Black has been ejected for arguing a replay review that overturned a potential three-run home run.

Umpires initially ruled that Yasmani Grandal hit a three-run homer in the fourth inning Monday against the San Francisco Giants. But after a replay showed a fan reached over the fence in right-center to catch the ball, umpires changed the call to a double. Seth Smith was sent back to third base instead of being allowed to score on a two-out hit to the deepest part of the stadium.

Black ran out of the dugout to challenge the ruling and was immediately ejected by crew chief Brian O'Nora.

The play became moot when Tommy Medica followed with a two-run single off Matt Cain.
