Padres ballgirl makes spectacular snag on line smash by Kemp

The San Diego Padres aren't making too many highlights in the midst of a six-game losing streak, which made a ballgirl the talk of the team's 5-3 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday.

In the eighth inning of the game at Petco Park, Padres right fielder Matt Kemp ripped a high fastball from Phillies reliever Hector Neris foul down the left-field line.

Now, Kemp is among the worst fielding outfielders in all of baseball, ranking 59th in fielding percentage. Well, good thing he was the one who hit, and not the one trying to catch it.

As the ball came screaming toward them, fans in Section 122, which actually juts out back toward the field, quickly ducked for cover. But the third-base line ballgirl was unflappable.

As you can see, she nabbed the ball out of the air with a fantastic jumping catch, saving the fans ... and earning a standing ovation from the appreciative Section 122.

And the effortless handing of the ball to the kid she saved? Total boss.
