O's pitching coach ejected vs. Yankees

Baltimore pitching coach Rick Kranitz was ejected from Wednesday's game against the New York Yankees in the second inning.

Plate umpire Paul Emmel tossed Kranitz from the dugout while Brett Gardner was batting, shortly after David Hernandez gave up his second solo homer of the afternoon.

After Hernandez's first pitch to Gardner was called a ball, Emmel turned and said something to the Baltimore dugout, spreading his hands at his sides, palms up. After a pause, he tossed Kranitz.

Manager Dave Trembley came out to talk with Emmel, and the two spoke for about a minute, after which Trembley nodded slightly and returned to the dugout.
