Orioles and infielder Navarro agree to 1-year deal

BALTIMORE (AP) Infielder Rey Navarro and the Baltimore Orioles have agreed to a one-year contract.

The 24-year-old spent last season with Double-A Pensacola and Triple-A Louisville in Cincinnati's organization. His deal calls for a $550,000 salary in majors and $150,000 in minors, with $75,000 guaranteed.

Navarro was selected by Arizona in the third round of the 2007 amateur draft and has a .265 batting average over eight minor league seasons.

Also on Wednesday, the Orioles obtained left-hander Scott Barnes from the Cleveland Indians for cash. Barnes pitched in 28 games for Triple-A Columbus this year and was 0-1 with one save and a 5.20 ERA for Cleveland in 22 relief appearances in 2012 and '13..
