DURHAM, N.C. (AP) Only players not on 40-man major league rosters will be on the U.S. team for the first Premier 12 baseball tournament, to be played in Taiwan from Nov. 9-21.

USA Baseball announced its 27-man roster Wednesday, and it includes New York Mets infielder Gavin Cecchini and Milwaukee outfielder Brett Phillips. Major League Baseball said players may participate only with the permission of their clubs.

Willie Randolph will manage the Americans, and his staff includes pitching coach Rick Peterson, hitting coach Ernie Young and assistant coaches Anthony Sanders, Roly De Armas and Ed Blankmeyer.
