Obama wishes it was the White Sox

Oh, sure. He’s just glad another NL Central team didn’t win.

President Barack Obama called John Farrell on Monday to congratulate the Red Sox on their World Series victory. The president pointed out that several of his staff members are Red Sox fans, including his press secretary, Jay Carney. The president also marveled at David Ortiz‘s World Series statistics, saying, “I did not anticipate David Ortiz batting .700. I missed that one.”
