Nats' Taylor Jordan lands on DL with back strain

Published Aug. 17, 2013 4:37 p.m. ET

The Washington Nationals have placed right-hander Taylor Jordan on the 15-day disabled list with a right lower back strain.

Saturday's move comes one day after the rookie did not allow an earned run in six innings in the Nationals' 3-2, 10-inning loss to the Braves. Jordan is 1-3 with a 3.65 ERA in nine starts with Washington.

The Nationals recalled outfielder Tyler Moore from Triple-A Syracuse. Moore has hit only .151 with three homers and 14 RBIs in 42 games with Washington. He had been optioned to Syracuse on July 8.
