A minor league catcher in the Washington Nationals' system has been suspended 50 games after testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug.

Adrian Nieto was penalized Thursday. He is the fourth player suspended this year under the minor league drug program.

The 21-year-old switch-hitter batted .195 in 60 games with Class A Hagerstown last year. The suspension will begin at the start of this season.

Nieto was born in Cuba and left as a young boy. The Nationals picked him in the fifth round of the 2008 draft.
