Major League Baseball has added 12 performance-enhancing substances and 30 stimulants to the banned list in its Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

The MLB memorandum, dated Feb. 19, 2010, was posted in the New York Yankees clubhouse at George M. Steinbrenner Field on Saturday. Each player also received a copy.

The memorandum said the updates became effective with the start of spring training this year.

The prevention and treatment program is part of the basic agreement between MLB and the players' association.
