Mike Napoli ran carpool duty for a few Red Sox players stuck in the snow
The Boston Red Sox had to delay Monday's season opener against the Cleveland Indians due to the cold weather in Cleveland, but unfortunately a group of Red Sox players still got stuck walking to the park in the winter storm. Luckily for those players, a stray Mike Napoli was driving by, and he reportedly was kind enough to stop to give them a lift.
There are of course a few unanswered questions from this tale of Napoli's taxi service. Why were the players walking to the park in a storm at all? Was there no team transportation and no Uber drivers in the area? Where was the rest of the team?
Also, why was Napoli unable to give manager Terry Francona a lift? The Cleveland bench boss was apparently stuck instead riding his scooter through the city.

Still, the story is another nice moment for Red Sox fans to remember Napoli by. The Indians outfielder played for the Red Sox from 2013 until midway through the 2015 season. He is beloved in Boston for helping the team win the 2013 World Series and for partying shirtless throughout the city in the days following the World Series victory.
Boston is not fond of the Red Sox postponing Opening Day due simply to cold weather, however. The weather was decidedly more wintry in Boston, where the city received 3-5 inches of snow with temperatures in the 20s (although the windchill had those temperatures feeling more like they were in the teens). The game's postponement announcement was met by a healthy dose of New England disdain on Twitter.

The Red Sox and Indians scheduled a make-up game for Tuesday at 1:10 p.m. There is no word yet as to whether Napoli plans to drive the Red Sox to and from the stadium then.
