Mets rookies dress as A League of Their Own

Because what better way to start the day where the Mets could clinch a Wild Card spot than with a good laugh?

The Mets have their rookies dress up every year on their final road trip of the season — most teams do. This year, they paid tribute to a fantastic movie with their choice of costume, ‘A League of Their Own.’ The only thing that was missing was Tom Hanks.

Yes, there is Brandon Nimmo curtseying. Are you surprised? I’m not. He’s having a field day with this and it’s fantastic.

Left to right are Rene Rivera, Nimmo, T.J. Rivera, Ty Kelly, Josh Smoker, Matt Reynolds, Robert Gsellman, Gavin Cecchini, and Seth Lugo.

If you don’t follow the Mets on Snapchat I recommend you do it now. They have a great inside look of the rookies going out dressed like this to get the team’s morning coffee.

The Mets also blessed us by posting a video of it on Twitter. What better way to get pumped up for the game than seeing more curtseys from Nimmo?!

Can we take a second and talk about how of course Noah Syndergaard is there with all of them, dressed in regular attire, filming everything for Instagram?

Syndergaard had to take part in this last year, where after the Mets clinched in Cincinnati all rookies were given Superhero and Star Wars underoos to wear home.

Hey, last year the rookies had to do this after they clinched. This year….potentially before? We sure hope so. Now that we know the Mets are up and caffeinated, let’s go win.
