Mets reportedly interested in Dexter Fowler

While it's been reported that Ben Zobrist is their No. 1 target this offseason, the New York Mets are still keeping their options open.

According to Buster Olney at ESPN, the Mets are eyeing outfielder Dexter Fowler:

Last season, the Mets gave the starting job to Juan Lagares, then later to Yoenis Cespedes who was a defensive liability.

Fowler would give the Mets a much-needed, everyday center fielder. While he didn't hit for a high average in 2015 (.250), he had a good on-base percentage (.346), hit a career-high 17 home runs and stole 20 bases.

Should the Mets sign Fowler, their outfield would likely be comprised of Fowler in center with Michael Conforto and Curtis Granderson on the corners.
