Mets place Gee, Tejada on leave as Herrera and Parnell return
It was two up, two down for the New York Mets on Thursday.
As reliever Bobby Parnell and infielder Dilson Herrera returned from the disabled list, pitcher Dillon Gee and infielder Ruben Tejada were simultaneously placed on leave.
The Mets announced on their Twitter page that Gee was placed on the bereavement list following the death of his grandmother and Tejada was placed on the paternity list.
While Herrera returns to the Mets a month after fracturing the tip of his middle finger, Parnell's reunion with the club comes after a 14-month recovery from Tommy John surgery.
