Mets starting pitcher Jenrry Mejia left the game against the San Diego Padres in the fourth inning Saturday night after suffering a right elbow injury.

Mejia felt discomfort after his second pitch of the inning to leadoff hitter Logan Forsythe.

He allowed a run and four hits in three innings with five strikeouts.

Mejia (1-2) underwent Tommy John surgery in 2011 and was making his fifth start of the season.
