Mets' Maine 'not feeling well,' to be reevaluated

Published Jun. 20, 2010 5:49 p.m. ET

Mets manager Jerry Manuel says right-hander John Maine is not feeling well and will be reevaluated before going forward with his rehabilitation for a shoulder injury.

Manuel was vague Sunday when discussing Maine's situation before the Mets played the Yankees in the finale of the Subway Series. Manuel would not say what was wrong with Maine, who has been on the disabled list since May 21 because of shoulder weakness.

Maine threw 88 pitches in his second rehab start for Triple-A Buffalo on Friday, allowing one hit and an unearned run over 4 1-3 innings. The club was planning to have Maine make another rehab start before he is ready to rejoin the Mets, but that appears to be on hold.

Maine is 1-3 with a 6.13 ERA in nine starts this season.
