MIAMI (AP) Miami Marlins left fielder Christian Yelich will begin a rehab assignment on Sunday with Class A Jupiter.

Yelich, who has been on the disabled list since April 24 with a lower back strain, also plans to play for Jupiter on Monday and Tuesday with plans of returning to the big league club on Thursday at San Francisco.

The 23-year old Gold Glove winner is hitting .200 with four RBIs in 11 games this season.

Miami pitchers Henderson Alvarez (right shoulder inflammation) and Mat Latos (hamstring) threw a bullpen session on Saturday with hopes of both rejoining the rotation within the next two weeks.
