The Seattle Mariners have signed right-hander Chris Ray to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

The Mariners made the move Tuesday. Ray becomes the 20th non-roster invitee to Mariners spring training camp.

The 29-year-old Ray pitched for both Texas and San Francisco last season, but didn't appear in the postseason for either of the World Series participants. Ray was 5-0 with a 3.72 ERA in 63 combined games for the Rangers and Giants. He was traded to the Giants on July 1 in a deal for catcher Bengie Molina.

Ray has played in parts of five major league seasons and combined to go 15-17 with 51 saves and a 4.02 ERA. He has pitched for Baltimore as well, but spent parts of the last four seasons on the disabled list.
