The Seattle Mariners have placed infielder Chone Figgins on the disabled list and promoted third baseman Kyle Seager from Triple-A Tacoma.
Figgins hurt his right hip flexor on a fielding play at third base during the first inning of Monday's game against Oakland. The Mariners delayed the DL decision until just before Tuesday's game to see how Figgins responded.
Seager arrived before the game and was available.
Figgins is batting .188 in 81 games for the Mariners. He has one home run and 15 RBIs.
