SORE SLUGGER

Major League homer leader Giancarlo Stanton hurt his hand Friday night while taking another big swing, this one a strike, and he will have some further tests before determining if he can play against the Dodgers. The Marlins sure need their slugger. They've lost five in a row.

HOMER UNHAPPY

Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw has already allowed 11 homers this season, two more than the nine he yielded all last season when he won the NL Cy Young Award and MVP. He faces Tom Koehler and the Marlins.

SECOND START

Phillies lefty Adam Morgan snapped a franchise-record for Phillies' starters: 25 consecutive starts without a win. And he did it in his major league debut, beating St. Louis. He faces Gio Gonzalez and the Nationals in start No. 2.

MAKING THE LEAP

Matt Boyd has been called up to make his big league debut for the Blue Jays, in place of injured righty Aaron Sanchez. Boyd began the season at Double-A New Hampshire before making two starts at Triple-A Buffalo - he went a combined 7-2 with a 1.26 ERA in 14 starts. He'll be facing the reeling Texas Rangers, losers of a season-high six straight.

ENCORE PERFORMANCE

Indians right-hander Cody Anderson makes his second major league appearance against the Orioles, looking to keep his 0.00 ERA intact. In his debut Sunday against Tampa Bay, the 24-year-old kept the Rays scoreless over 7 2-3 innings. Anderson did not figure in the decision, so he's still looking for his first career win. Chris Tillman, who's got a horrid 6.22 ERA, will start for Baltimore.
