Latos' debut for Marlins a short one after rough 2/3 inning

Miami Marlins right-hander Mat Latos lasted only two-thirds of an inning in the shortest outing of his big career Tuesday and gave up seven runs to the Atlanta Braves.

Latos, acquired in the offseason, was booed as he left the game, his first for his hometown team. He departed with an ERA of 94.50.

The Braves' big inning included RBI doubles by Freddie Freeman, Christian Bethancourt and Chris Johnson, and a two-run single by Andrelton Simmons.

Atlanta batted .857 with six hits against Latos.

Latos' outing was the shortest by a starting pitcher making his Marlins' debut, according to STATS. Michael Tejera (Sept. 8, 1999) and Logan Kensing (Sept. 10, 2004) each got six outs in their Marlins' debuts -- also their first big-league games.
