Ward is batting .310 with no homers and six RBI’s with a .333 OBP. Ward is moving his way up the depth chart for the Angels and there is a chance he could be up as high as Triple-A in 2017. Ward can also throw base runners out when they try and steal on him.
This season Ward played well for Inland Empire which is the Angels high Single-A franchise. Ward hit .249 with 10 homers and 56 RBI’s. The Angels drafted Ward out of Fresno State where Ward played for three years before being drafted.

Ward talked about his time in Single-A and what he has learned from this past season.
“This was my first year I learned a lot and I hope to continue to improve in the off-season and next year,” Ward said in an interview in late August. “Catching has been really good this year I have done well defensively all season. Offensively I still need to improve, but I felt I have improved in the second half of the season.”
Ward hopes to be invited to Spring Training and to have a good showing.
“That’s my goal is to get to Spring Training and show what I can do,” Ward said. “Hopefully I will do well enough to get a better level to play at next year and keep striving to get better each day.”
Playing in the Arizona Fall League has been a great experience for Ward and it shows how good he can be in the future. So watch him shine in the AFL All-Star game Saturday evening and hopefully we will see Ward soon in Anaheim.”
