Jays lefty Liriano leaves after taking line drive off neck

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) Toronto left-hander Francisco Liriano exited the AL Division Series game against Texas after taking a line drive from Carlos Gomez off the back of his neck.

Liriano turned away from the hit by Gomez, and the ball appeared to ricochet from just below his head into center field for a run-scoring single in the eighth inning Friday.

The 32-year-old stayed on his feet and walked around the infield briefly before his teammates, a trainer and manager John Gibbons came out to check on him. Liriano was replaced by closer Robert Osuna.
