Is King Felix future Hall of Famer?

Every time Felix Hernandez takes the mound, something special can happen.

The 2010 American League Cy Young winner is 105-80 with a 3.18 ERA in his eight-plus year career (through June 7, 2013).

Imagine how many more victories the Seattle Mariners right-hander would have if he pitched for a better team. Example: He was just one game over .500 at 13-12 in 2010, but posted an AL-best ERA of 2.27.

Pitching for Seattle is probably another reason his career-high in wins is 19, which led the AL in 2009. He finished that season 19-5 with a 2.49 ERA and 217 strikeouts.

Among active starters, Hernandez ranks third in ERA behind the Cardinals' Adam Wainwright (3.09) and the Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw (2.71).

Among active pitchers, Fernandez ranks ninth in complete games (23) and shutouts (nine), 11th in strikeouts per nine innings (8.32) and 20th in K's (1,582).

Only 27, expect those numbers to increase as the three-time All-Star continues his career — the native Venezuelan debuted at 19 in August 2005.

When Hernandez finally hangs it up, will he find himself on a plaque in Cooperstown?
