CLEVELAND (AP) The Cleveland Indians have recalled right-hander Mark Lowe from Triple-A Columbus and optioned left-hander T.J. House to the same club.

Lowe was promoted Monday to help Cleveland's overworked bullpen, which pitched 17 2-3 innings during a four-game series against Boston. He made four relief appearances with the Indians last month, compiling a 2.08 ERA. Lowe was 1-1 with nine saves and a 3.48 ERA in 20 relief outings in Columbus.

House was 0-1 with a 4.88 ERA in six appearances, including five starts, with the Indians.

Right-hander Zach McAllister, who is on the 15-day disabled list with a sore back, is expected to start Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Angels.
