CLEVELAND (AP) The Cleveland Indians have placed catcher Yan Gomes on the seven-day concussion disabled list.
Gomes, hit on the mask Thursday after a pitch deflected off Minnesota's Kurt Suzuki, was still experiencing symptoms after taking part in some light activity Friday and Saturday.
Indians manager Terry Francona said Saturday the team is taking a cautious approach and doesn't want to rush Gomes back into action.
Roberto Perez started at catcher Saturday night against Houston for the second straight game, and Francona said first baseman Carlos Santana could play a few innings behind the plate if necessary.

Gomes is batting .284 with 17 homers and 53 RBIs.
The Indians didn't immediately announce a corresponding roster move to replace Gomes.
