Hot-hitting Kemp out of Dodgers lineup

Published Jun. 10, 2011 9:44 p.m. ET

Slugger Matt Kemp was scratched from the Los Angeles Dodgers' lineup at Colorado on Friday night because of tightness in his left hamstring.

Kemp is hitting .329 with an NL-best 18 homers and 53 RBIs. He's been torrid this month, going 14 for 28 with five homers and 13 RBIs on the first seven games of the Dodgers' 10-game trip.

He came up a single shy of the cycle Thursday night in L.A.'s 9-7 loss to the Rockies.

The Dodgers announced the switch about 30 minutes before their game at Coors Field. Rookie Trent Oeltjen replaced Kemp in the lineup and played left field with Tony Gwynn moving to center. Casey Black moved from the second spot in the order to Kemp's cleanup spot.
