MILWAUKEE (AP) Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper was out of Sunday's lineup against Milwaukee a day after getting hit on the left leg by a 95 mph fastball.
A team spokeswoman said the slugger was just getting a day off. Harper hobbled off the field after getting hit on the inside of his left leg above the knee in the ninth inning Saturday on a pitch from Brewers reliever Michael Blazek.
Harper was a replaced by a pinch runner as a precaution. He is among the league leaders in multiple offensive categories, batting .343 with 21 homers and 51 RBIs in 61 games going into Sunday.
Clint Robinson got the start in right field for Harper.
