Giants' Uribe late scratch from Game 2

Published Oct. 17, 2010 1:00 a.m. ET

Giants shortstop Juan Uribe was a late scratch for Game 2 of the NLCS because of a bruised left wrist.

Edgar Renteria will be starting at shortstop and batting eighth against the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday night.

Because of that move, right fielder Cody Ross has been moved from eighth to sixth in the lineup.

Uribe wasn't entirely ruled out for Game 2, but definitely will not start.

Giants manager Bruce Bochy says Uribe will most likely have an MRI on Monday. He didn't feel right swinging the bat, but he will take pregame fielding practice and could be available late in the game.

Bochy's hopeful Uribe will be available for Game 3 on Tuesday.
